In its opening post about the browser, the company said “Project Maelstrom” has the potential to help address some of the most vexing problems facing the Internet today. Since then more than 10,000 developers and 3,500 publishers signed up for the alpha. helping BitTorrent to develop a more stable version. The beta version carries improved stability, support for auto-update, DHT visualization for users when loading torrents, and developer publishing tools. The company says that a browser with a distributed protocol can “open a better future for publishers, creators, and users” thanks to “a more efficient, scalable, and cost-effective alternative to HTTP.” The developer publishing tool which is available on Github lets developers and publishers build content for the browser.
