According to the company, “GO 3 eliminates the hassle of bulkier cameras and offers more unique creative possibilities”.
In terms of features, the Insta360 GO 3 comes in smaller than thumb size and weighs in at only 1.2oz (35 grams), and measures just 1.0 by 2.1 by 0.9 inches. For videos, the action camera is now capable of supporting up to 2.7K resolution (2720 x 1536 pixels) at 24/25/30fps with no clip length limitations. It offers three video recording modes: Pre-Recording, Loop Recording, and Timed Capture. Timed capture, in particular, is useful for setting up auto-capture for a sunrise. Simply schedule GO 3 to power on and start recording at a specific time. Not just this, the GO 3 has a 6-axis gyroscope and comes equipped with FlowState Stabilization that removes all the shakes, bumps, or rolls, while the 360 Horizon Lock allows video to stay upright without tilting or distortion, even in action-packed scenarios. It also comes with a pre-installed replaceable Lens Guard for worry-free shooting. There’s also a FreeFrame mode that enables users to modify the aspect ratio of their footage after shooting so that they can edit the same clip for a 9:16 Instagram Reel as a 16:9 YouTube video. Users can also record 120 FPS slow-motion videos in 1080p resolution with GO 3. Further, the Insta360 GO 3 comes with a 310 mAh cell and has a battery life of 45 minutes (1080p @ 30fps) on a single charge, which is a 50% increase on the previous generation, GO 2. However, when mounted onto the “Action Pod,” it can offer 170 minutes of recording time per charge. The Action Pod packs a 1,270 mAh battery and charges up to 100% in 65 minutes. The 2.2-inch flip touchscreen Action Pod hub connects to GO 3 over Bluetooth for real-time remote control and live preview for tough angles. It also acts as a housing, remote control, and charger for the camera. On the camera front, the Insta360 GO 3 includes an aperture of f2.2 and a focal length of 11.24mm. It can capture photos in INSP and DNG formats and record videos in MP4. It also has TimeShift for hyperlapse montages and Timelapse to speed things up (or slow them down). Further, the GO 3 comes with several magnetic accessories that truly unlock the camera’s creative potential. For instance, the Magnet Pendant is a circular magnet that can be worn around the neck for first-person POV filming. The Easy Clip allows users to attach the camera to a cap for a hands-free, high-angle shot, while the Pivot Stand is a reusable sticky mount with an adjustable design that works with selfie sticks and tripods. In addition, the action camera is waterproof and also IPX8 certified, which means it is resistant to shallow immersion up to 16 feet (5m) deep. Also, the action pod comes with an IPX4 water-resistant design. Other features include dual built-in microphones with voice control to record footage with crisp audio, upgraded Voice Control 2.0 for complete hands-free operation of GO 3, built-in storage that now goes up to 128GB and AI-powered features such as auto-editing and PureShot HDR. The Insta360 GO 3 app is compatible with Android and iOS devices. You can check out the complete list of compatible devices on Insta360’s website. The action camera is available in three storage options: 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB, which are priced at $379.99, $399.99, and $429.99, respectively.
