Microsoft Forums suggest that the original problem of the endless reboot is a rogue entry in the Windows Registry that does not allow the upgrade to happen. Users within the Microsoft forums have discovered a rogue entry within the Windows Registry causes the update to fail. Removing the entry appears to allow the update to install correctly, but require users to manually edit a crucial part of the operating system, which can cause major issues if done incorrectly. The fix, however, hasn’t worked for all the users. Hence, it is advisable that the users do not try this and instead wait for an official fix, as the company can be expected to provide one in due course if it continues to be an issue.
