At a press conference, the company’s promoter Madhav Reddy said that the smartphone is available for pre-booking from May 17 to May 25 on the company’s website namotel.com. However, like the Freedom 251 website, this website also refuses to open thereby raising suspicions of the credibility of such a cheap offering. Not that the buyers will lay their hands on Namotel for one and half dollars. Namotel.com apparently shows the price has been slashed from Rs 2,999 to Rs 99 and that the smartphone is available on cash-on-delivery basis. Buyers interested in Namotel are required to register on bemybanker.com website and get a user ID and password, which is required to book the smartphone on namotel.com. For registration on bemybanker.com website, users need to pay a one-time lifetime membership fee of Rs 199. Also there is a small issue of a large shipping fees. It is expected that Namotel will cost more to deliver than the smartphone itself. We should point out that Namotel as a brand or name was something no one has heard of before, but given the Ringing Bells and Docoss story, it is also appears to be scam to lure gullible Indians. According to the company, Namotel Acche Din has a 4-inch display, runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop, and is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core processor along with 1GB RAM and 4GB storage space. The smartphone will be available for booking between May 17 to 25, 2016.
